The Simon Bolivar Park is located near the bay, surrounded by historic buildings such as the Customs House (The Gold Museum) and the Palace of Justice. This is an emblematic tribute to the Liberator Simon Bolivar who died on December 17, 1830 in the city of Santa Marta. In the park is a monument donated by Venezuela and Santa Marta in 1953, this place is not only of historical importance for the city, but also for the whole region. To get to it from the hotel casa verde just walk a few blocks between 14th and 15th street is the park, being hosted in the historic center of Santa Marta you can easily move to different places full of culture and history.
